Bluegrass babydolls is an olde english babydoll southdown sheep farm located in the heart of the kentucky bluegrass. They are ideal for suburban lot owners who want the tranquility of sheep as living lawn ornaments. Our sheep are registered with the old english babydoll registry their woolly smiling face gives them their teddy bear appearance. Our farm is located in southwest missouri and is home to a flock of olde english babydoll southdown sheep.

Male sheep are called rams. Miniature sheep give birth only one time a year usually in the spring. Their height from shoulders to the ground measures less than 24 and their adult weight averages 70 150 pounds. Our 2020 lambs are all sold.

We sell our registered ewe and ram lambs for 500 each and our wether lambs for 250 each. Both ewes and rams are polled have no horns and are non aggressive by nature. For such a long name they are actually quite short. This makes them much easier to handle than many other farm animals.

My adventure as a shepherd began in 2005. Adult babydoll southdown sheep are 17 to 24 at the shoulder. Their short legs along with their small size allows them the ability to do well in small areas. Their small size is less intimidating for children and they make ideal 4 h projects.

To keep them enclosed fencing does not need to be high. It takes a female sheep five months to have a baby lamb. Their roots are from a heritage breed that has been around for a very long time. They are cud chewing animals.
